He describes a country that is struggling to address the widespread death and destruction caused by a cyclone this weekend. A US diplomat in Burma today said the death toll from the disaster could top 100,000.

The World's Katy Clark reports on the dire situation in Burma following last weekend's cyclone. International aid has begun arriving in Burma. But some aid groups are still complaining that the government is dragging its heels. The UN estimates that about half a million people need shelter, food and drinking water.

Burma's mangroves have buffered the country from the worst effects of natural disasters. Now that the mangrove forests have been cleared away to make way for shrimp and fish farms, cyclones like the one that struck days ago are even more devastating.
