Many survivors of the August earthquake that hit Peru are in hard-to-reach areas. So nearly two months after the tremor, they're still waiting for help. Reporter Ruxandra Guidi follows a relief team as it set out to reach homeless survivors.

Listen Burma activists vow to continue protests (7:30)

Anchor Lisa Mullins gets the latest on events in Burma from BBC correspondent Jonathan Head. Head says Burmese activists are vowing to continue their protests, despite the violent response from the military government. Head also says that some activists are now talking about the possibility of organizing an armed opposition to the government.

Today's pro-democracy activists in Burma take their inspiration from the generation of activists who came of age during similar protests in 1988. The World's Jeb Sharp met up with some of them to find out about their fight for democracy nearly 20 years ago.

The Peace Corps' new "50-Plus Volunteer Initiative" is aimed at the generation that came of age when the overseas service program was created in 1961. Now the Peace Corps hopes to capitalize on the Kennedy-era idealism of Baby Boomers looking for something meaningful to do when they retire. Philip Graitcer reports from Atlanta.

Listen Deal announced with North Korea (5:20)

China today announced that North Korea has agreed to take another step toward dismantling its nuclear arsenal. The North Korean government is now vowing to shut down its main nuclear reactor and disclose all its nuclear activities by the end of the year. Anchor Lisa Mullins gets the latest on this agreement from The World's Mary Kay Magistad in Beijing.

North Korea and China were once Communist comrades, but China's growing prosperity has created an economic and political - distance. In one town along the North Korean-Chinese border, though the two appear to be working well together. The BBC's Jason Strother reports.
