The World's Technology Correspondent Clark Boyd tells us about the One Laptop Per Child project. The aim of the non-profit plan is to put a low-cost laptop in the hands of children in the developing world. The idea has garnered some ridicule in the five years since its inception. But now the project is ready to start mass-producing the components to build the computers.
