In the 1990s, unhygienic practices in China's blood industry caused thousands of people to contract the AIDS virus. The government has since put in place regulations to prevent such a public health disaster from recurring. But The World's Mary Kay Magistad reports that some donors in China are still paid for their blood, and experts say such cash incentives could lead to HIV entering the blood supply.
