Welcome!

alisa-ted-sm.jpgThis special page provides background on my recent talk, "How News Shapes Our World," with links to some resources on global journalism. I am passionate about Americans understanding more about our increasingly complex world.

Our society is becoming more globally interconnected each day. In our increasingly interdependent world, events taking place in distant countries can be of vital significance to Americans; in turn, the choices and actions we take here at home can reverberate around the globe. Yet, Americans seem to know less and less about the world around them, their many connections to it, and the complexities and interrelationships between major issues such as peace and security, energy, sustainability and the environment, economic development, health, and the arts and culture.

This is important because how we comprehend our world shapes how we live in it and what actions we take.

At PRI, we are working on a number of transformative strategies to reach Americans by leveraging the power of the digital world by serving our affiliate stations and producers around the country with digital content and tools, attracting new users, building interconnected content experiences, forging new partnerships, and creating communities. PRI is striving to lead and set the standard as the most entrepreneurial force in media for the public good in the United States.

We would love your advice and thoughts on media, content, and business models and I would welcome talking more with you.

Please join the conversation below and sign up to be part of regular updates.

Best,
