On Monday, Cambodia convicted a major Khmer Rouge figure, Comrade Duch, for his connection with the deaths of 1.7 million people from 1975 to 1979. BBC reporter Guy de Launey reports from Cambodia on the significant conviction.

Thirty years after more than a million people died at the hands of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, a United Nations-backed trial is finally underway. For what this means for Cambodia we are joined by Jonathan Head, the BBC’s South Asia correspondent.
