With journalists barred from Syria, many in the media are forced to rely on amateur videos. With so little information, it's difficult to know what's really going on.

For several weeks, videos of the uprising in Syria have been trickling out to YouTube. Anthony Shadid, foreign correspondent for The New York Times describes the process he and his colleagues go through in order to verify the stories coming out of Libya.
