The Chinese military has put its newest, biggest warship -- a 60,000 ton aircraft carrier -- up for public viewing. Some see it as a direct challenge to the US navy.

China's new aircraft carrier can be seen as a symbol of China's growing power in the world and its desire to project that power far beyond its borders. Damien Grammaticas, correspondent for the BBC, has seen the ship and talks about the news.
