Republicans in the US House of Representatives had hired a law firm, King and Spalding, to defend the Defense of Marriage Act. King and Spalding has now announced it is withdrawing from the case.

When Barack Obama announced that the US Justice Department would no longer be defending the Defense of Marriage Act, Republicans hired the law firm King and Spalding. Now, the law firm has announced it will now longer defende DOMA either.
