Europeans are in the grip of E. Coli fear. The bacteria have killed 16 people, all but one in Germany.

More than 1,000 people are infected with E. Coli in Europe, though not necessarily sick, according to Jörg Blech, who writes for the German weekly Der Spiegel. More than 300 are sick, and scientists are scrambling to find the source of the outbreak.
