E. coli outbreak: Don't panic, nature doesn't hate us
The E. coli outbreak in Germany has many people panicked, but in fact, it's the inevitable outcome of eating food on earth.
People are constantly surrounded by bacteria every day. "It's tragic what happens in Germany, but it's also quite inevitable," says to Dr. Kent Sepkowitz, an infectious disease doctor in New York City. The disturbing fact that people don't want to live up to, according to Sepkowitz, is that " We eat a lot of feces every day. It's impossible not to."
Nature doesn't actually hate humans. It's simply disturbingly indifferent. "I'm very saddened by the tragedy, Sepkowitz says. "Unfortunately this is business as usual on planet earth."
