A new study from triple AAA found that 4 percent more Americans will be traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday, and the vast majority will be driving.

This Thanksgiving, expect your planes and highways to be a bit more full.

Travel is expected to be up, about 4 percent. With reduced airline capacity, despite a projected 2 percent drop in travelers flying, things could be especially crowded for those who choose to fly to get to their Thanksgiving destinations.

According to AAA, 42.5 million Americans will travel more than 50 miles from home. About 90 percent will be driving.

The increase has been attributed to pent up demand.

Fewer Americans are expected to book hotel rooms, the survey found. So, mom and dad may be opening up the sleeper sofa.
