Former vice president Dick Cheney has never been shy when it comes to criticizing his political enemies. Yet the longtime public official is also a notoriously private man.

In his new memoir, "In My Time: A Personal and Political Memoir," Cheney opens up about some of the inner workings of the often-secretive Bush Administration. In an interview with NBC's Dateline to promote the book, Cheney promised "heads will explode all over Washington."

Tom DeFrank is Washington bureau chief at the New York Daily News, and self-professed long-time "Cheney watcher." He looks forward to seeing what Cheney includes in the memoir.

"Everybody should be interested in what he has to say," DeFrank said. "In the eight years of the Bush administration he was very much one of the most powerful people around."
