Kurt Andersen and the MacArthur Genius-recipient and award-winning radio producer David Isay talk about the art of preservation.

Isayspent much of his time in radio producing stories about preserving memory, physical space, or artistic endeavors. Heis the founder of Sound Portraits Productions, and his documentaries heard on public radio includeGhetto Life 101,The Sunshine Hotel, andWitness to an Execution. David is currently producing theYiddish Radio Project, unearthing and retelling the story of the golden age of Yiddish Radio.
