Banksy takes on BP

The World

British graffiti artist and political activistBanksyhas been venturing into more mixed and varied mediums lately, addingperformance artand evensculptureto his distinctiverepertoire. With his reputation for subversive social commentary, it was only a matter of time before Banksy addressed theworst oil spillin history.

His latest installation “Pier Pressure” is a reconditioned children’s dolphin ride complete with oil barrel and tuna net in one of England’s most popular seaside holiday destinations, Brighton.

One of the things I love so much about Banky’s work is that by using a wall, bridge or pier as his canvas, he allows you to see the location with fresh eyes. Plus you never know where it’ll pop up next.
