Senate confirmation hearings on President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet nominees continue Thursday.
Three of Trump's nominees are appearing concurrently on Capitol Hill before three separate committees. Retired Gen. James Mattis, who is nominated to be defense secretary, will sit before the Senate Arms Services Committee. The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence will question Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kan, Trump's pick to head the CIA. And the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs will hear from Trump's choice for secretary of housing and urban development, Ben Carson, a retired neurosurgeon who ran against Trump for the Republican presidential nomination.
