Today, we introduce SoundWorks, a set of PRI personalities who will expose and explore issues that are shaping both daily life and global trends. Through podcasts, blog posts and appearances on some of your favorite PRI shows, we hope they will become trusted guides to the experiences that connect you with others across cultures and time.

Farai Chideya

Farai Chideya has been covering politics and culture in print, television, radio and online for 25 years. Her podcast One with Farai digs into the stories behind those shaking up society with their words and deeds.

Sean Rameswaram

Sean Rameswaram is an Internet hobo, catching rides on the memes that barrel across today’s culture and sharing his travels in Sideshow, a new podcast from PRI’s Studio 360® with Kurt Andersen.

Daniel Alarcón

Daniel Alarcón is an award-winning novelist and journalist who finds endless plotlines in the broad spectrum of Latino communities across the Americas. In Radio Ambulante Unscripted, he tunes us into the multiple frequencies he finds.

Patrick Cox

Patrick Cox is British-born of Irish stock and now calls America home. From his perch at PRI’s The World, he dissects global languages for clues to our differences and similarities. He reveals all in his podcast, The World in Words.

These four are just the first wave of PRI personalities in SoundWorks. In the months ahead, we’ll be adding more like them — travelers in the increasingly interconnected world we share.

So, take a listen to their storytelling and let us know what you think here or on Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Welcome to PRI’s SoundWorks.

SoundWorks was made possible through the generous support of The Sara & Evan Williams Foundation, Maureen and Michael Ruettgers, and The National Endowment for the Humanities.
