Dutch guys prank their friend by taking apart his LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon

Late one night, two Dutch guys — filmmaker Joost Reijmers and actor Thomas van der Ree — pulled the world's most sadistic prank on their friend Michael. He'd just spent the entire day putting together the ridiculously complex LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon and was pretty much in love with the finished model. As he left the office, Michael told his friends, “I can’t wait to see it again in the morning.”

Big mistake.

Joost and Thomas decided to teach Michael an important lesson about having hopes and dreams. They took all 1,254 pieces apart, put them in separate plastic bags and returned them to the original box. This reverse assembly took several hours. Then they set up the LEGO minifigs — Han Solo, Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader — around the box to taunt their nerdy friend.

When Michael returned to the office the next day, he saw the minifigs and thought it was pretty funny. But where was his Millennium Falcon? First he thought Joost and Thomas had hidden it but soon things became appallingly clear: “Oh no. It’s starting to dawn on me. Oh, the horror!” Then came the bargaining: “Oh god, please let it be some bricks [in the box].” Then the rolling around on the floor in despair.

The prank is brilliantly framed — not surprising, since the principals are filmmakers — so make sure to watch the whole thing.
