Smash-therapy in Argentina’s Break Club

The World

Tired of staring at a computer screen or typing on a keyboard? Smash it.

There's a club in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where you can get your frustrations out by breaking objects. It's called the Break Club.

Take a bat to an old TV screen. Or smash some bottles with a club.

The BBC's Ignacio de los Reyes went along to a session to see the destruction in action and meet the club's creator Guido Dodero.

"I met a couple of customers who worked in call centers or worked on IT support. They were so happy to smash, especially the keyboards," said de los Reyes. "You've already tried going to the gym, you've already tried therapy and it's OK for getting adrenaline and releasing endorphins. But sometimes you need something else."
