Obama’s Economic Address

The Takeaway

Yesterday, President Obama gave his first address in what will be a series of major speeches focused on the economy.
In the speech, given at Knox College in Illinois, he touched on a number of subjects one might expect, including the nation’s 1 percent and Obamacare. Though the speech did include some moments of optimism, the president also acknowledge our nation’s economic challenges. He also mentioned a word we haven’t heard in a while: Sequester.
Takeaway Washington Correspondent Todd Zwillich translates the president’s speech for us, including plans, intended audience and the future of the sequester.
