Greenwich Villages Around the World

The World

For the Geo Quiz, we’re looking for a London neighborhood. Not just any neighborhood, we’re looking for London’s version of New York’s Greenwich Village.

This neighborhood is famous for designer shops, the Crown pub, and the Cambridge Theater.

It’s sandwiched between Soho and Covent Garden, and its distinguishing landmark is pillar with sun dials where seven of London’s streets all intersect.

The answer: Seven Dials.

Turns out many cities around the world like to have their own “Greenwich Village”, but everyone likes to put their own twist on it.

Steven Melendez of station WNYC made it its mission to find them all.
