Bloco do Sargento Pimenta: The Beatles Samba-Style

The World

The Beatles may have broken up more than four decades ago, but they still inspires fans and tributes the world over.

One of the more interesting Beatles tributes is Bloco do Sargento Pimenta or Sgt. Pepper’s band, if you will.

The band was the big thing at the 2013 Rio de Janeiro carnival.

About 100,000 people turned out to see them.

They got voted best bloco by one newspaper in Rio.

One stage they perform with 100 samba percussionists.
