The World

Newspapers might be under pressure in the United States, but they’re in rude health in India. A range of broadsheets and other papers are published across the country and many feature that satirical staple: the political cartoon. I met with Rasheed Kappan in Bangalore. He’s City Bureau Chief for the Deccan Herald, the city’s second largest daily. Kappan is also a long-time cartoonist and presents a few of his works – and of other influential Indian cartoonists – here.
