The World

More than half of the population of Guatemala descended from the Mayan Indians. Still, the Mayans been excluded from the country’s political and economic life for centuries.

But today, they’re finding their voice in the music of a Guatemalan rock band.

The group is called B’itzma.

And the band sings in an indigenous language called Mam.
From Ixtahuacan, Guatemala, Mary Stucky has today’s Global Hit.

Reporter Mary Stucky travelled to Guatemala with journalist Andi McDaniel. They put together a slideshow for the PBS program Frontline/World.
