The World

Today’s Geo Quiz takes us to a resort city on the French Riviera. It was named after an Italian saint, and its history dates back to the sixth century BC.

It became world-famous in 1956.

That’s when a movie called “And God Created Woman” was shot here. The “Woman” of the title was French sex symbol Brigitte Bardot. But the setting was so lovely that it held its own, even against Bardot’s ample charms.

Once audiences got a taste of the city’s sunshine, beaches, and architecture, it became a prime destination for the rich and famous.

But that’s caused some trouble in paradise. Some of the wealthy visitors arrive in their own private helicopters. And the choppers’ noise has exasperated local residents.

They’re trying to shut down unauthorized landing pads here.

So where are we?

We’ll meet one of those angry locals when we answer today’s Geo Quiz…
