Swedish forces battled the troops of Russian Tsar Peter the Great. The Russians won and the map of Europe was redrawn.
Peter wanted access to the sea to build his great city — what would become St. Petersburg.
But the battle didn’t take place in Russia or Sweden.

They fought in what is now Ukraine, in the city of Poltava.
And that’s the answer to our quiz.
