Eight players suspended in U of Miami football scandal

The World

The NCAA has suspended eight University of Miami football players today for accepting impermissible benefits from former U of M booster Nevin Shapiro. The move comes just weeks after  Yahoo! Sports  reported that Shapiro, who is in federal prison for his role in a $930 million Ponzi scheme, recruited players using methods against NCAA regulations. The NCAA will continue its investigation and further actions against the team and its players may be in store. Susan Miller Degnan, beat reporter for the Miami Herald, has been following the story.
