Competition for oddest book title

Over the past couple years, book titles have been getting shorter while subtitles have been getting longer. Many notable books have just one word in the title, which gives a book a certain authority. There are still some books that take a slightly different path. Last year’s winner of the Bookseller competition was Stray Shopping Karts of Eastern North America: A Field Identification Guide. This Bookseller Magazine editor says the best titles are the ones where authors are so obsessed with their topic that they can’t see the weirdness of the title. All the nominees come from real publishers that cater to real areas of the market.
