World says goodbye to Nelson Mandela

GlobalPost

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, who spent 27 years in prison for his struggle against racist white rule before emerging to become South Africa's first democratically elected president, died yesterday at the age of 95.

"Our nation has lost its greatest son," South African President Jacob Zuma told South Africans. "Our people have lost a father."

The world remembered him with sorrow, joy, and songs.
