Explosion outside China primary school kills two (VIDEO)
Damaged motorbikes and debris lie on the ground after an explosion outside a primary school in Guilin, southwest China’s Guangxi province on September 9, 2013, killing two people and injured 17 others, state-run media and a local official said. The explosion in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the south, occurred as a motorcycle passed the school gate while children were arriving for classes, China’s official Xinhua news agency said.
An explosion outside a primary school in the Chinese city of Guilin has killed two people and wounded dozens more, while it remains unknown if the incident was accidental or intentional.
A huge explosion rocked the Balijie Primary School as children were arriving for clases around 7:00 AM, the Associated Press reports, apparantly as a result of a three-wheeled motorcycle catching fire and exploding as it passed the facility.

A man and a woman were killed at the scene, and although a concrete number of the injured is hard to come by, Xinhua reports 44 people were wounded in the blast.
Five people remain in critical condition, reports AFP, which added that Guilin police have begun a hunt for illegal explosives in the city.
If proved intentional, the explosion would be the latest in a series of violent attacks on schoolchildren in China in recent years, including a December 2012 incident where 22 children were injured after a knife-wielding man accosted them at a school entrance.
In May, two children died after drinking poisoned yoghurt, planted by the owner of a kindergarten that was competing for students.
