Or, that he tweets at all. But Iran's new President Hassan Rouhani has embraced social media, and his tweets and Facebook postings appear to signal a new openness. Iran's conservative Fars News Agency initially denied that Rouhani has a Twitter account but journalist and Middle East scholar Robin Wright has confirmed that Rouhani has both an English and Farsi Twitter account.

Iran's new President Hassan Rouhani has embraced social media. And his tweets and Facebook postings appear to signal a new openness.

Today, President Rouhani tweeted his best wishes to Jews in Iran and around the globe as they celebrate the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah.

Iran's conservative Fars News Agency initially denied that Rouhani has a Twitter account but journalist and Middle East scholar Robin Wright has confirmed that Rouhani has both an English and Farsi Twitter account.
