Ricin suspect Shannon Guess Richardson gives birth in custody
The Texas woman accused of sending ricin-laced letters to the president and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has given birth four months early in custody.
Attorneys for Shannon Guess Richardson and her husband, Nathan, told The Associated Press she gave birth July 4 to a boy named Brody.
The baby weighed less than 2 pounds and is facing major health complications, attorney John Delk told the Texarkana Gazette.

Richardson, 35, was pregnant with her son when authorities say she sent the poisonous letters to Bloomberg, the gun-lobbying group he founded and President Barack Obama in May.
A federal affidavit alleges she tried to implicate her husband in the crime before being arrested herself June 7.
An aspiring actress, Richardson already has five children from previous relationships, aged between 4 and 19.
Her husband has since filed for divorce.
Richardson faces 10 years in prison if convicted.
On the Internet Movie Database, she lists on her resume roles in movies like “The Change Up,” “The Blind Side” and “Madea’s Big Happy Family.”
She’s appeared as a zombie in “The Walking Dead,” as well as in parts in “Drop Dead Diva” and “The Vampire Diaries.”
