Parents of murdered Krim children expecting baby

NEW YORK – The New York parents of two young children allegedly stabbed to death by their nanny announced Thursday they are expecting a baby.

"Nessie can't wait to welcome her baby brother," the couple wrote on their Facebook page.

"We are filled with many emotions as we look to the future, but the most important one is hope. We are very grateful to you all for your amazing support."

The good news comes a month after Yoselyn Ortega, 50, the family’s nanny, was declared fit to stand trial for the murders of Lucia Krim, 6, and her brother, Leo, 2, ABC News reported.

Ortega, who allegedly stabbed to death the two children in the bathtub of their Upper West Side apartment in October last year, has not entered a plea.

The Krims Facebook page, titled the Lulu and Leo Fund which was created in the wake of their deaths, received hundreds of comments and thousands of "likes" following the pregnancy announcement on Thursday night, People magazine reported.

"This is the happiest magical news we all could hope for," wrote one woman.

"This little boy is a symbol of so many things. Your hearts were broken, but you never let your spirit dwindle."
