Charlie Sheen's twin boys taken from Brooke Mueller and sent to live with Denise Richards

How’s this for dysfunctional celebrities.

Charlie Sheen’s twin sons have been removed from his ex-wife Brooke Mueller’s custody and placed in the care of … another ex-wife.

L.A. County Department of Child Protective Services removed the four-year-old boys from the home of their mother on Thursday after deciding her house was an “unsafe environment” for the children.

Mueller has battled drug addiction for years, and authorities suspect she is using again.

The children, Bob and Max, have been placed in the care of Denise Richards, the mother of Sheen’s two daughters, until a more permanent solution is found.

It is not clear why the children were sent to live with Richards and not Sheen, but celebrity gossip website TMZ may have a point when it says “even Sheen knows they’re in better hands with Denise.”
