Bostonian Nasser Weddady Reflects on the Marathon Bombings

The World

Nasser Weddady works in downtown Boston as the Director of Outreach for the American Islamic Congress.

The AIC was founded in the wake of the September 11 attacks, when Muslims in America – or people thought to be Muslim – were the objects of scrutiny and suspicion. The non-profit has tried to build bridges among people of different faiths and ethnicities.

As Weddady told The World’s Marco Werman, Monday’s explosions at the Boston Marathon finishing line occurred only a block away from the AIC offices.
