Dorner reward shrinks
Southern California has been on edge as the manhunt for Christopher Dorner continues, prompting statewide alerts and extra border security in both California and Nevada.
The Peace Officers Research Association of California has officially withdrawn its $50,000 pledge for information leading to the arrest of Christopher Dorner, KNBC reported.
This is just the latest development in the tale of the shrinking Dorner pledge. Several contributors, including the city of Riverside, have already backed out. The Peace Officers Research Assn. of California, which represents 64,000 public safety officers, said earlier this week that it was putting its donation on hold.

Investigators received hundredsof tip-offs last month after posting a $1 million reward the capture of ex-cop fugitive Dorner. But donors are backing out now because Dorner died during the pursuit.
Law enforcement officials are worried that this could deter people from coming forward to police with tip-offs in the futre.“I think this is going to prove a major embarrassment for all concerned,” William J. Bratton, the former Los Angeles police chief who has also led the police forces in Boston and New York, told the New York Times on Friday.
