Hacker announces zombie outbreak using TV alert system (VIDEO)

A hacker gained access to Montana’s KRTV emergency alert system on Tuesday, telling television viewers in the North Central Montana region the zombie apocalypse was nigh.

“The bodies of the dead are rising from their graves and attacking the living,” boomed a disembodied voice during Montana’s daytime television schedule.

KRTV was quick to debunk to claim, stemming any initial panic before there was a run on machete sales.

“Someone apparently hacked into the Emergency Alert System and announced on KRTV and the CW that there was an emergency in several Montana counties,” read a statement on KRTV’s website.

“This message did not originate from KRTV, and there is no emergency.”

But that wasn't enough to convince everyone.

At least four calls were made to local police to determine whether or not the slobbering horde was actually on the attack, reported the BBC

All jokes aside, it's unlikely that a zombie outbreak in Montana would pose any real danger to residents. Given the state’s sparse population, the infection would spread slowly, giving emergency crews enough time whittle down the zombie horde before the infection could spread exponentially.
