Viral Video of the Day

Of all the wacky video sensations that have taken the internet by storm lately, the Harlem Shake is definitely one of our favorites.

The Harlem Shake, originally dubbed "The Albee" after its creator — a man who goes by the name "Al B"—  is a dance that started in Harlem, New York, in 1981. Since its inception, the Harlem Shake has spread to other urban areas, and has even made it's way into rap videos.

The dance itself is defined by Urban Dictionary as ‘An eccentric upper body dance move that involves the shaking of the upper torso and shoulders.’

However, when asked about the beauty of his boogie, Al B gave a more colorful description:

It's a drunken shake anyway, it's an alcoholic shake, but it's fantastic, everybody loves it and everybody appreciates it. And it's glowing with glory. And it's respected.

Glowing with glory? We second that motion, Al B.

After a brief hiatus, the Harlem Shake has made its way back into the spotlight, with the release of the song "Harlem Shake" by American producer Baauer and numerous copy-cat videos which have been uploaded to YouTube featuring the famous Shake.

Move over Gangnam style, there's a new dance craze in town.
