JonBenet Ramsey grand jury indicted parents (VIDEO)

A grand jury voted to indict JonBenet Ramsey's parents in her death, but jurors said the DA refused to try the case.

In interviews with the Daily Camera of Boulder published Sunday, members of the grand jury said they wanted to indict John and Patsy Ramsey on charges of child abuse resulting in death.

But District Attorney Alex Hunter refused to sign the indictment, jurors told the newspaper.

Multiple sources told ABC News he didn't believe there was enough evidence to try the case.

The 6-year-old beauty queen was found dead in the basement of her family's Boulder, Colorado, home on Christmas Day in 1996.

No one's ever been charged in the case, although authorities immediately suspected her parents.

John and Patsy Ramsey have maintained that an intruder was to blame.

They were exonerated in 2008, two years after JonBenet's mother died of ovarian cancer, the New York Daily News reported.

The jurors who confirmed the vote to the Daily Camera said they still aren't exactly sure what happened that day in 1996.

Some remain plagued by guilt.

"It's still unresolved," one juror, who asked to remain anonymous, told the newspaper. "Somebody did something pretty horrible that wasn't punished."
