Colorado shooting suspect James Holmes to face trial, judge says
Authorities have identified James Holmes as the alleged gunman in the Aurora shootings.
A judge ruled late Thursday that there's enough evidence against Colorado shooting suspect James Holmes to proceed to a trial.
The ruling means prosecutors established probable cause to proceed with all 166 felony charges against the 25-year-old accused of killing 12 people and injuring 58 others in an Aurora movie theater in July, The Associated Press reported.

Holmes is now due to be arraigned Friday, but that might not happen.
His attorneys filed papers Thursday afternoon claiming he's not ready to enter a plea, according to the AP.
Prosecutors laid out new and sometimes disturbing evidence against Holmes in a three-day preliminary hearing this week.

He amassed an arsenal of guns and ammunition and cased out the theater at least three times in the weeks before the July 20 shooting, USA Today reported.
Cellphone pictures taken hours before the massacre show Holmes grinning and sticking out his tongue wearing black contact lenses.
When police confronted him outside the theater afterward, he smirked when asked if he acted alone.
Holmes’ attorneys have said in court that the former University of Colorado neuroscience student is mentally ill, ABC News reported.
It's not yet known if he would face the death penalty.
