Tagg Romney: Dad Mitt had ‘no desire’ to be president (VIDEO)

Mitt Romney's son, Tagg, is raising eyebrows with his latest statements on his dad's presidential run.

In an interview with the Boston Globe, Mitt's oldest son said his father had "no desire" to be president despite his attempt to unseat Barack Obama this fall.

“He wanted to be president less than anyone I’ve met in my life. He had no desire to . . . run,” Tagg Romney told the Globe. “If he could have found someone else to take his place . . . he would have been ecstatic to step aside.”

The Globe article also noted that “Tagg … worked with his mother, Ann, to persuade his father to seek the presidency.”

Pundits and opinion writers nationwide appeared split on whether to believe the latest assertions by the Romney family.

The Washington Post's Jonathan Capehart claims Mitt Romney ran "one of the worst presidential campaigns in modern memory," and believes Mitt's wife Ann was fully behind the effort to get her husband to run agan.

The New Yorker suggested Romney tell the GOP in 2016 to pick "a nominee who really wants to be there."
