With the first half of the NHL season canceled – some sports fans are looking elsewhere for hockey action. The team from Yaroslavl, Russia is definitely one to watch. You may remember the entire Lokomotiv hockey team died in a plane crash last year just as they were taking off for a game. So this season, Lokomotiv is rebuilding and getting back on its skates. The Lokomotiv squad is coached by former NHL player and former coach of the Carolina Hurricanes Tom Rowe. Rowe tells The World that after several months in Russia, Yaroslavl feels like home. He says a key to his team's success is the fact that coaches and players are supporting each other, and occasionally that means stopping to reflect and pay tribute to the memories of their lost Russian teammates.
