Macy's parade confetti made of police documents

New York City's PIX11 news found confetti from the famed Macy's Thanksgiving parade contained social security numbers belonging to police detectives and the identity of undercover detectives from New York's Nassau County Police Department.

College student Ethan Finklestein was the first to discover bizarre confetti.

"It landed on [a friend's] shoulder," Finkelstein told PIX11 News, "and it says 'SSN' and it's written like a social security number, and we're like, 'That's really bizarre.'

He added, "There are phone numbers, addresses, more social security numbers, license plate numbers and then we find all these incident reports from police."

The BBC notes, the confetti was legiable because it was shredded horizontally, not vertically.
