Bon Jovi’s daughter will not face drug charges after overdose

Jon Bon Jovi's 19-year-old daughter will not face drug charges after overdosing on heroin in her college dorm room, reports TMZ.

Stephanie Rose Bongiovi was arrested after being treated for a drug overdose in her room at Hamilton College in Upstate New York.

AP reports that police were orginally called to Dunham Hall after reports that Bongiovi was unresponsive. She was taken to an unspecified hospital to recover.

Officers sent to search the dorm room found a small amount of heroin and arrested another Hamilton student, 21-year-old Ian Grant, who was reportedly involved in the overdose.

Grant and Bongiovi faced charges of drug possession and were ticketed.

However, a rep for the Oneida County District Attorney's Office told TMZ that it is dismissing all criminal charges against both students, citing a New York state law that specifically prohibits prosecution of people experiencing a drug overdose — as well as the people who help them seek medical care.

According to AP, Bon Jovi, 50, is scheduled to perform a benefit concert for Hamilton's scholarships and arts programs in Times Square on Dec. 5.
