Ashton Kutcher has replaced Charlie Sheen as the highest paid actor on television, Forbes magazine reported today.

Kutcher, who took over the lead role on CBS sitcom “Two and A Half Men” last year after Sheen was sacked, made an estimated $24 million between May 2011 and May 2012, CNN reported.

Sheen topped the highest-paid TV actors’ list in 2011 with earnings of $40 million, but he was nowhere to be seen this year.

Forbes said Sheen “might return” to the list one day thanks to his show “Anger Management” on cable television.

Reuters reported that “House” star Hugh Laurie and Ray Romano of the now-canceled “Men of a Certain Age” were joint runners-up with earnings of $18 million each.

Other highly compensated actors included Alec Baldwin of “30 Rock,” and “Two and A Half Men” co-star Jon Cryer and “The Big Bang Theory”’s Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki.

“Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara topped the previously released Forbes highest-paid actresses list for US television. The Colombian star made an estimated $19 million in the 12 months to May.
