Obama’s ‘bromance’ with Pakistan hits India

US President Barack Obama has done more to shift America's allegiance away from Pakistan toward India than any of his predecessors. But according to a new play by Rashid Razaq, Potus had a bromance with a Pakistani classmate who merits only a few pages in Obama's "Dreams of My Father."

More fuel for Birther Mania? Let's hope not — though one Tea Party genius has already suggested that a picture of Obama sitting on his one-time Pakistani roommate's lap proves that he's gay.

Provocatively titled The President and the Pakistani, the play revisits Harlem in 1981, when "Barry" Obama was living with his alleged party-loving, drug-abusing, illegal alien Pakistani friend, Sohale Siddiqi, according to the Hindustan Times.

The fictional version?

In the play, Siddiqi has been renamed Salim "Sal" Maqbool, and is depicted as a cokehead, though the playwright admits he has never spoken to the real Siddiqi, the newspaper writes.

"He has manic, nervous energy while Barry is the stable, secure, sensible guy. But there is a real closeness between them and hopefully that comes across," HT quotes Razaq as saying.

This is, of course, old news. Siddiqi told the AP back in 2008 that Obama had done a little '80s style partying before getting ambitious at Columbia during his New York years. And several of his Pakistani friends have been reluctant to talk about their college-era friendship with the president because they thought it might hurt his career — considering the silly rumor floating around that he is "secretly Muslim."

To me, it only shows that the guy is cooler than we originally thought — at least according to the Daily Beast's excerpts from David Maraniss' new biography of the man.  Anybody who lived his life as though he were going to run for president someday would be insufferable.
