A Chinese restaurant in Kentucky is closing its doors after health inspectors found roadkill in the kitchen.

Customers at the Red Flower Chinese Restaurant in Williamsburg, Kentucky, told local TV station WYMT they were horrified when they saw a restaurant employee wheeling a dead deer into the kitchen last week.

This after they had just finished a buffet lunch there.

"It was very disturbing," customer Katie Hopkins told WYMT. "There was actually a blood trail that they were mopping up behind the garbage can."

Hopkins immediately called health inspectors, who shut down the restaurant after confirming the discovery, Fox News reported.

Inspectors told TV station WLEX that the owner's son admitted to picking up the dead deer off the side of a nearby highway.

Paul Lawson, the environmental health inspector in Whitley County, told WYMT it's the craziest thing he's ever seen.

"They said they didn't know that they weren't allowed to, so that makes me concerned," he said. "They didn't admit to doing it before."
