Little girl’s message in a bottle makes it from England to Australia

A little girl's message in a bottle made it all the way from England to Australia.

Four-year-old Jasmine Hudson threw the glass bottle with a short note inside into the English Channel while on vacation with her parents in Bournemouth, reported ThisIsTamworth.

She was hoping that it would reach her aunt on Guernsey, an island in the Channel belonging to the UK.

Five months and 10,00 miles later, the bottle showed up on the beach at Largs Bay in South Australia.

It was discovered by Barbara Richards, a local who was strolling along the beach collecting sea shells.

"I was just so excited when I found it because how many of us dream of finding a message on a beach?" Richards said, according to news.com.au.

What did the message read?

"Ahoy, be it known Jasmine Hudson set this adrift on April 10, 2012" – a generic note fom a message in a bottle pre-made kit.

Jasmine and Barbara are now friends on Facebook.
