Shakira is pregnant

Colombian singer Shakira said today she was pregnant with her first child.
The 35-year-old popstar announced on her website that she and her boyfriend, FC Barcelona player Gerard Pique, were “very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby.”
“At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days,” Shakira said in the statement.
“This means I will not be able to be a part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival, but I’m sure this weekend in Las Vegas will be spectacular and I will be closely following everything that happens there!”
The news confirms “months of speculation” about whether Shakira was expecting a baby, ABC News said.
Shakira's desire to reproduce has long been known. In 2009, she said in an interview that "I really would like to have a big belly," the Associated Press reported.
People magazine reported this would the first child for both Shakira and Pique, who have been dating for more than a year.
