David A. Kappheim, of Lake Park, Florida, described as being "obsessed with Fox News and the Republican party" is in jail after he allegedly said he thought he would kill his girlfriend because she was a "liberal," according to The Palm Beach Post.

Kappheim, 60, was arrested on Tuesday and is being held without bail, facing charges of domestic battery, aggravated assault and criminal mischief.

He allegedly showed up at the victim's friend's house naked on August 25th, WPTV reported. The next day he allegedly "choked his live-in girlfriend, cutting her breath," said the probable cause affidavit.

On August 27th, police said he threatened his girlfriend, saying he would "kill her and burn her home."

When his girlfriend asked him to move out, Kappheim asked to borrow the car so he could move his things, said The Palm Beach Post. She agreed but asked him to drive her to work first. The 59-year-old woman, whose identity was not released, said he drone "recklessly" the entire ride and laughed out loud when she asked him not to kill her.

The arrest affidavit said Kappheim told a sheriff's deputy that "he was very conservative, and his girlfriend was liberal and he felt he was going to have to kill her," according to WPTV.

The same deputy said documents belonging to Kappheim which were found in the victim's apartment led him to believe Kappheim was "obsessed" with Fox News and the GOP, Gawker reported.
